Big Fish Little Fish Swim School is proudly owned and operated by Kylie Lehman & Paula Olsson.  Combined, both Kylie and Paula have been employed as Teachers of Swimming and Water Safety, Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Adult Aquatics and Squads, and also in Management positions in the Aquatics and Fitness industry for over the past 10+ years at both large facilities and smaller, privately run Swim Schools. 

We are both proud Mum's - between us we have 5 growing boys!  Thanks to these previous experiences, together with our qualifications and accomplishments, we have a strong grasp of what makes a quality Swim School, the most effective way to teach and progress students of all ages, the importance of learning in a encouraging, supportive, comfortable and fun environment, and most importantly, how dedicated we are in delivering a high quality aquatic programs to teach these valuable life skills to as many people as we can.

Kylie Lehman - After losing a family member in a drowning, I left my career of 10 years in the banking sector to play a part in raising water safety awareness.  Over the past 10+ years in the Aquatics industry, I have had the pleasure of teaching many students from Infants through to Squads and Adults, in conjunction with managing a variety of aquatic programs at both large and smaller aquatic facilities.  My qualifications include AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics, CPR, Level 2 First Aid and a current Working with Children Check, together with a vast amount of experience in teaching Adults and Squad training.  I am also the author of "Shelly the Shrimp and Her AquaSafe Friends", which was written in memory of my brother-in-law, Justin Lehman, to promote the importance of water safety to children and their families.  40,000+ copies of "Shelly the Shrimp and Her AquaSafe Friends" have been sold nationally, with proceeds from the sale of the book going to Foundation Y  - to provide Aquatic Education classes to disadvantaged children.  "Shelly the Shrimp and Her AquaSafe Friends" won the 2006 Life Saving Victoria Award for Excellence in the Promotion of Water Safety. 

Paula Olsson - I have been involved in the Aquatics industry for over 10 years now, and actually trained Ky when she firstly started her initial qualifications to become a Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety!  We have been working together at both large and smaller Swim Schools for several years now, and our similar philosophies, high expectations, teaching styles, mutual respect for each other and our dedication to teaching these important life skills have led us to proudly open Big Fish Little Fish Swim School together.  My aquatic qualifications include AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics, CPR and a current Working with Children Check.  Besides being a Registered Nurse for the past 11 years, like Ky, my previous professional experience includes management roles at both Aquatic and Fitness centres.  I have a strong interest in fitness across the board, and to further develop this pursuit, I have attained my Certificate 3 in Fitness.               

All Big Fish Little Fish Swim School Teachers are AUSTSWIM qualified, have a current Working with Children Check, hold an updated CPR qualification and are committed to keeping their knowledge of the Aquatics industry up to date.

Ky taught us for 3 and a half years in a group Adult class.  We started as beginners with a very limited knowledge of swimming and water safety, and now we can confidently swim laps of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, even butterfly!  When we became an Advanced Adult Class, we had many fun sessions with Ky learning racing dives and tumble turns and the "science" of swimming.  We also learned many valuable water safety skills that have proved to not only be of value to us, but also important knowledge we can pass on to our families.  A wonderful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and professional teacher and after our 3 and a half years together, a dear friend.

Your Advanced Adult Class, Narre Warren

I have a 9 year old and 20 month old who Paula has taught since they were very little.  The way Paula communicates with the kids and encourages them to challenge themselves shows in their growing confidence and vast improvement.  Paula's classes are very structured and fun - the kids are constantly moving and trying new skills.  She is always smiling, and her knowledge and caring and professional manner has made her a favourite with our children, and many other families in the Casey area.  Thanks Paula!
